5 Things Your Entertainer Profile Needs to Get More Bookings
Event organizers make fast decisions. When they're browsing PartyBaker at 11 PM trying to finalize entertainment for a wedding in three weeks, your profile has about 10 seconds to convince them to stop scrolling.
Here's what separates profiles that get inquiries from those that don't.
1. A performance video — not a promo reel
This is the single most important thing on your profile. Not a slideshow of photos with music over it. Not a highlight reel where every clip is 2 seconds. An actual performance clip, at least 2–3 minutes, that shows you doing your thing in front of real people.
Organizers want to see crowd reaction. They want to feel what your show is like. A polished but generic reel doesn't answer the question they're really asking: Will this work for my guests?
If you don't have footage yet, film your next gig on a friend's phone. Raw video of a real performance beats a slick promo video of nothing.
2. A bio that speaks to organizers, not other entertainers
Avoid: "Passionate DJ with a love for music and 7 years of experience crafting unforgettable soundscapes."
Write instead for someone who's never booked a DJ before and needs to justify the decision to a partner or boss:
- What kinds of events do you specialize in?
- What cities and regions do you serve?
- What makes your approach different?
- What should they expect from working with you?
Be specific. "200+ private events across Cluj and Transylvania" is more convincing than "extensive experience."
3. Reviews from at least 3 different event types
One glowing review is nice. Three reviews from different event types — a wedding, a corporate event, a birthday party — tell a broader story of reliability and range.
After every gig, send your client a direct link to leave a review on your PartyBaker profile. Most people are happy to leave one; they just need the nudge and the link.
Don't wait until you have a full portfolio to ask — start collecting reviews from your very first booking on the platform.
4. Clear availability and service area
Organizers frequently don't reach out to a profile they love because they assume the entertainer is either too far, too expensive, or too booked. Remove the guesswork:
- State your city and how far you're willing to travel
- Mention if you cover all of Romania or specific regions
- Note if you're available for last-minute bookings
A short line — "Based in Bucharest, available across Romania with advance notice" — saves both sides time.
5. Respond fast when inquiries arrive
Your profile can be perfect. But if an organizer sends an inquiry on Tuesday and hears back on Friday, there's a good chance they've already booked someone else.
Set up notifications so you know the moment a new inquiry comes in. Respond within a few hours — even if it's just to acknowledge receipt and say when you'll have availability confirmed.
Speed is a signal of professionalism. It tells the organizer they can count on you.
